    Thanks for this album. It contains a song which stands head an shoulders above the rest, and one about which there has been much speculation as to whether there is an autobiographical meaning - I am referring to "Yellow Roses On Her Gown" for which Mathis turns an enigmatic lyric into an emotionally charged story ballad which suggests a meaning (for him) beyond the words, posing many questions (none of which are answered). The performance (in my opinion) is of a level which he rarely achieved. That is not to devalue most of his incredible oeuvre: this one seems to be very special to him. Many thanks for this album.
