Deanna Durbin

Not moving out of the 30's or 40's yet !!...A selection of Deanna's film songs...electronically processed as stated on the back sleeve...hence the sometimes peculiar echoey sound....but you get the essence of the sound !!....Thanks "Bob" for the nostalgic walk down memory lane ""

Deanna Durbin

Here's a real "Blast From The past"...late 30's early 40's to be exact...whether or not it's "The Best Of " is not important its a collection of her early recordings from the "Films & Studio"....One wonders what would be the difference if she could record with the technology we have today....But of course that is impossible as she died in 2013 at the grand age of 92 !!...This is a great musical document of the music of the 30's & 40's !!!!

Vince Hill

We now have a couple from "Bill" in Belgium !!...It's the English Singer that's seems to do well with "Film & Show Songs"...his biggest hit was of course "Edelweiss" from "The Sound Of Music"......So here he is doing "Rogers & Hart" Songs and a very good job he makes of them !!

George Hamilton IV..320 Kbps

Not being into CW very much this is the first time I have really listened to George H...On this L/P he sings well known CW songs that have been hits for a few well known singers...now are these versions the original versions or are the other singers done the definitive versions....I should imagine that it is up to the individual listener to make that distinction !!!..Or am I wrong!!.......But getting back to the L/P..It's a good one and does a great job of all the songs his voice is good but I don't think individual enough to be instantly recognisable!!!

1. A Rose And Baby Ruth
2. Your Cheatin' Heart
3.  Loneliness All Around Me
4. You Win Again
5. I Can't Help It If I'm Still In Love With You
6. Even Tho'

Stephane Grappelly & Friends

Here's some great tracks from about 1970 from one of the "Greats" of "Jazz Violins" !!...could listen to him all day !!...Pity That the back notes are in French might have to get the "Google Translation" on it  but then sometimes things get lost in translation !!!...but this is a great L/P and all the songs are well known so even when the "Friends" go off on an "improvisation" as well as "Stephane" it always goes back to the melody eventualy !!!...this one definatly gave me "Goose Bumps"!!!!!....will be playing it quite a lot in future...Thanks "Bob" !!!!...

This is a double L/P of Johnny's and IMO (in my opinion) is one of his best...he sings it straight by that I mean he doesn't use much of his phasing that is his trademark !!....And although on some of the tracks he doesn't venture too far from the original's all the tracks sound fresh.... it was recorded in 1971 and it's a GUD UN !!!....Luigi's Seal Of Aproval !!!
