Sylvie Vartan

Names familiar but not heard her voice till now...so off the "Wikipedia"to find out more info!!

Great what you can find on there...wish it was there in the 50's it would have saved me walking from record shop to record shop looking for information because itn those days it seems that I always was interested in the obscure recordings that nobody had heard of !!.....after listening to it I like her voice and production is typical 50's 60's style !! Grrrrreat !!!

Sylvie Vartan (born Sylvie Georges Vartanian; 15 August 1944) is a French singer and actress. She is known as one of the most productive and tough-sounding yé-yé artists. Her performances often featured elaborate show-dance choreography, and she made many appearances on French and Italian TV. Yearly shows with then-husband Johnny Hallyday attracted full houses at the Olympia and the Palais des congrès de Paris throughout the 1960s and mid-1970s. In 2004, after a break in performances, she began recording and giving concerts of jazz ballads in francophone countries.

The Good Time Singers

Not heard of these singers before...So here is  some info from the WWWeb !!

Here's the great recording of the Good Time Singers' new, Big Time style!
They've taken the best sounds from folk and country music plus the best sounds from rock 'n' roll and bluegrass, and they've created something new and exciting to hear. They call it "Folkabilly Rockgrass" and it's a wonderfully new way of playing and singing anything from a great Broadway show tune to a traditional old folk ballad.

Audiences far and wide have raved about the Good Time Singers on their tours with Mitzi Gaynor and with the Beverly Hillbillies of TV, and in their sensational television appearances on the Andy Williams Show. Andy has invited them back for a second season of Good Time Singing, and you'll hear why when you listen to this album. They get a great new sound from the day's top musical styles that is ONE STEP MORE THAN THE MOST!

1. Gimme Some
2. Li'l Old Road
3. Little Maggie
4. Homestead In The Bay
5. The Man On The Flying Trapeze
6. Walk The Floor

2. Put On Your Sunday Clothes
3. Bury Beneath The Willow

Re-Post
This one is going to be a bit hard to tell what it's all about....I suppose you could call it "Classical" but it's not... certainly has a classical feel about it and again it gets a bit "Jazzy"and then a bit "Funky"and then in certain parts you would swear that you was listening to the "Shadows"...so overall it's a mixture of "Styles".....Think "ELO" and"Tubular Bells" and you may get some idea whats it all about !!!couldn't record track by track because the music blended between tracks so I had to record Side One then Side Two....but you can see from the back sleeve all the tracks are "Variations"...hence the name !!
