The Planets....320 Kbps

Earlier on we dipped our toes in the light classical mode...now I think we will dive into the "Cosmos" and go all classical for a change !!....Most people will be aware of the track "Mars" but I wonder how many knows where it comes from !!...Sooooooooo folks it's here !!!
The Planets Suite was first performed in September 1918 so it is a fairly modern piece of classical music and its a "Beaut"...On the back sleeve there is a very good description of the moods of music of the tracks written by "Imogen Holst"who I assume to be the daughter of the composer......so be adventurous and give it a go !!

1. Mars
2. Venus
3. Mercury

1. Jupiter
2. Saturn
3. Uranus
4. Neptune

1. Mars.

  2. For those interested, Imogen Clare Holst CBE (n̩e von Holst) 12 April 1907 Р9 March 1984) was a British composer, arranger, conductor, teacher, musicologist, and festival administrator. The only child of the composer Gustav Holst, she is particularly known for her educational work at Dartington Hall in the 1940s, and for her 20 years as joint artistic director of the Aldeburgh Festival. In addition to composing music, she wrote composer biographies, much educational material, and several books on the life and works of her father.
