Another excellent L/P from TMSS's...I wish that they had made more L/P's than they did....I recon that they recorded about 6 featuring themselves..They definatly have their own sound and Mike Sammes was a great arranger and producer...no fiddling about with the sounds...I think they just went into the recording studio and sang with the orchestra..grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat L/P !!!!

ReplyDeleteMike Sammes realised early on that singers being brought into the recording studio needed to rehearse the same as the musicians so he decided that at least to be one jump ahead as all his singers were sight readers. The group arrived in the studio and could start just the same as the musicians (sometmes better).
ReplyDeleteThey sight read the parts and sang, easy as that.
Mike was very popular.
