  3. Jazz virtuoso Pia Beck, born on September 18, 1925 in the residence in The Hague, is a natural talent pur sang. A musical jack-of-all-trades who has always gone her own way. She cannot read a note, even if it is the size of a cow! An autodidact who plays her own music against all musical rules. And what kind of music. Boogie-woogie, jazz, rock 'n roll, blues, you can't think of it as crazy as Pia plays it. In fact, many of her own compositions have now become evergreens, such as “Pia's Boogie”.
I saw her many times in her own club in Scheveningen (near The Hague) in the fifties.
