Emerson Lake & Palmer.


 Well now let's "Rock" with a classic L/P !!...that to all the "Rock Guy's & Gals" will be no stranger too !!...all the other's be a devil and have a listen !! you might be surprised and like it !!!

  1. This is rather good stuff. I was a big fan of The Nice and then Emerson Lake and Palmer. The debuted PicturesAt An Exhibition at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970, firing two great cannons at the end. Magic stuff and memories. Also saw them several times on the mainland, most memorably at The Royal Festival Hall. The giant size Moog synthesiser was operated by Mick Hugg (of Manfred Mann fame). Thanks.

  2. This post and the one below are both Classic L/P's...Pictures was recorded in March 1971..sold over 705'000 copies..Pictures at an Exhibition went to number 3 on the UK Albums Chart and number 10 on the US Billboard 200.
    It was certified SILVER in UK...and GOLD in America.....

  3. This is a great piece from the days of prog rock when it was at its most pretentious. ELP played performed it at the 1970 IoW Festival and I vividly remember at the end of 'The Great Gates of Kiev' they fired two giant cannons which, although not loaded with cannonballs, let of two great trails of bright orange flames across the site. I later heard them play the piece in the RFH (but no cannons!). Many thanks, I will enjoy this greatly. Cheers, The Man from Mordor :-)
