  4. A nice introduction to what are commonly known as "bleeding chunks" of Wagner. One could spend an entire life studying his music, particularly the Ring Cycle, or if that is too much then Tristan and Isolde perhaps. If a Venn Diagram was produced of the whole world of music, the compositions of Richard Wagner would be at the very centre - ALL musical roads, eventually, lead to his operas, the ultimate experience of music and theatre. There is plenty of material out on the web freely available, but perhaps the Solti sets on Decca or Karajan on DGG would be a great place to start. Beware, his wonderful music can become addictive! Anyway, thanks for sharing this introductory aolbum - I hope it opens some doors for listeners.
