A  selection of songs from the shows and films...to test just how good your Stereo equipment is !!

          5. Till There Was You

Lena Horne

Soul is a 1966 studio album by Lena Horne, arranged by Ray Ellis.  Soul was the third of four albums Lena Horne recorded for United Artists Records. Recorded between September 9th 1965 and March 11th 1966, and released in June 1966.
Groovy Lena Horne from the 60s – an album that's a heck of a lot hipper and more swinging than most of her sets from a decade before! That unmistakable Horne style of singing is still very much in place here – but the backings are often tightly punctuated, with a gently soulful groove that definitely lives up to the title, and which serves up most of the tracks with a nice little sense of rhythm. Ray Ellis is working here with Lena on the backings – and his style is arguably a bit groovier than usual too, with more of the syncopations you might find in mid 60s Quincy Jones or Oliver Nelson.

Jo Ann Campbell

Jo Ann Campbell (born July 20, 1938 in Jacksonville, Florida) is an American pop singer.
In 1956, Campbell decided to quit dancing and become a singer. She received her first recording contract with RKO-Point Records in New York and released her debut single "Where Ever You Go" / "I'm Coming Home Late Tonight" with them in 1956. It was unsuccessful and she then signed a recording contract with Eldorado Records after performing at Harlem's Apollo Theater. She wrote and released her second single, "Come On Baby" in 1957. Later that year she released "Wait a Minute", and appeared at the Brooklyn Paramount and on Dick Clark's American Bandstand show.

The Rock A Teens

Here's a one hit Wonder !....a cross between Bill Haley & Elvis !! from the late 50's lots of Rockabilly fun on this one !!

The Rock-A-Teens were a short-lived American rockabilly group from Richmond, Virginia, active in the late 1950s, led by Vic Mizelle....The Rock-a-Teens were one-hit wonders whose lone hit record was "Woo Hoo", written by George Donald McGraw and backed with "Untrue", released on Roulette Records R 4192. The song hit No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Rock-A-Teens formed in 1956 as Boo Walke & the Rockets while still in high school. After the initial success of "Woo-Hoo", they cut an album of the same name. Meanwhile Roulette Records issued a follow-up single of "Twangy" and "Doggone It Baby". Neither the album or follow-up single was successful. The group broke up shortly after and none of the members continued in the music business. ( Info Edited From Wikipedia )
