Jack Jones

John Allan Jones (born January 14, 1938) is an American jazz and pop singer and actor. He is the son of actor/singer Allan Jones and Irene Hervey.

Jones is primarily a straight-pop singer (even when he recorded contemporary material) whose forays into jazz are mostly of the big-band/swing variety. He has won two Grammy Awards.

Jones continues to perform concerts around the world, and remains popular in Las Vegas. He is perhaps most widely known for his recordings of "Lollipops and Roses" (1962 Grammy Award, Best Pop Male Performance), "Wives and Lovers" (1964 Grammy Award, Best Pop Male Performance), "The Race Is On," "The Impossible Dream," "Call Me Irresponsible," "Lady," and "The Love Boat Theme." Jones also sang the opening theme tune for the 1968 film Anzio, "This World Is Yours".

 I think that this L/P will be loved by the "Jack Jones" & "Michel Legrand" purists the most...To me it lacks in the songs that has been chosen....maybe because the majority are not at all familiar to me...saying that JJ is as usual in fine voice and you can't fault the vocals...This of course is MHO !!.........Be a strange world if everybody thought the same !!

This is one of JJ better releases on the RCA label...a really good selection of songs some well known ones the rest are excelent especially "Traces Of A Long Forgotten Tune" and I love what he does to "The Jealous Kind" a TOP A1 L/P !!!!

This is Jack Jones at his best singing some great songs....The concept of the L/P is as the titlesays "Love Story" and the producers have done a great job in choosing the songs and Jack certainly sings them in a quiet and gentle manner....Listening to the tracks again I think that his version of "I Think Its Going To Rain Today" is probably the best on record !!

This IMHO is a better set of songs than on the "Michel Legrand" one....maybe as I said before these songs on this L/P are more well known...I like the songs that tells some kind of story and there are two great ones on here "Happy Anniversary" and "You've Let Yourself Go"....as usual JJ is in good voice and sings all the tracks great...

One of Jack Jones best L/P's in my opinion....I wish he had done more tracks on it tho' only 10 tracks total playing time aprox 28 mins seems a bit mean !!! Even Sinatra gave us 15 tracks on both of his "Swingin' " L/P's !!....Best Track is "It Don't Matter To Me"!!
