Acker Bilk & The Paramount Jazz Band...Acker Pie.

Bernard Stanley "Acker" Bilk (28 January 1929 – 2 November 2014) was an English clarinettist and vocalist known for his breathy, vibrato-rich, lower-register style, and distinctive appearance – of goatee, bowler hat and striped waistcoat.

Bilk played with friends on the Bristol jazz circuit and in 1951 moved to London to play with Ken Colyer's band. Bilk disliked London, so returned west and formed his own band in Pensford called the Chew Valley Jazzmen, which was renamed the Bristol Paramount Jazz Band when they moved to London in 1951.

 In 1961 "Acker Bilk and His Paramount Jazz Band" appeared at the Royal Variety Performance. 

Bilk continued to tour with his Paramount Jazz Band, as well as performing concerts with his two contemporaries, Chris Barber and Kenny Ball, both of whom were born in 1930, as "The 3Bs". Bilk also provided vocals on many of his tracks, including on "I'm an Old Cowhand", "The Folks Who Live on the Hill", "White Cliffs of Dover", "Travellin On" and "That's My Home".

Anita Meyer (Annita Meijer), born in Rotterdam 29 October 1954, is a Dutch singer. One of her most notable songs is "Why Tell Me Why" that charted for 14 weeks and topped the Dutch singles list for six weeks in 1981.

Hello My Darlings...Charlie Drake.

For those who don't know Charlie was an English comedian that was on the English Television in the 50's / 60's..being remembered for his opening catchphrase "Hello, my darlings!" The catchphrase came about because he was short, and so his eyes would often be naturally directly level with a lady's bosom. Because of this and because in his television work he preferred appearing with big-busted women, the catchphrase was born....This L/P features some of his songs that is associated with him during his T/V Shows...and I think that as most of them are comic songs production is brilliant !!!...George Martin !! take a bow !!!

Drake made a number of records, most of them produced by George Martin for the Parlophone label. The first, "Splish Splash", a cover version of a rock and roll song originally recorded by Bobby Darin, got into the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart, reaching number 7 in 1958. An edited version of "My Boomerang Won't Come Back", became a mid-chart (No. 14 UK charts), following on from "Mr. Custer" (No. 12 UK charts) hit.
