Here's a voice that I missed from the 60's!!...once again a one and only L/P from this fine British Singer who definatly should have been heard more !...very good details of her on the back sleeve !!
Sweetest Sounds was Susannah Young's very first recording ... and also her last. What a shame. In her one and only outing, this British Singer proved to be a tasteful, smart, tuneful, melodious -- in a word, solid -- singer.
Luigi, hello. Thanks again for all the shares. I've been going back through your site and there are several albums that are "no longer available". Could I ask you to reup this one for me please. Thanks, John

ReplyDeleteAnother fine British singer that there is not much info about...which is a pity she sounds great... give it a listen and be amazed !!
Luigi, hello. Thanks for that. No, I couldn't find her in AllMusic.com. The only mention I found (so far) was in Youtube where a user MorganaFan has created videos for some of Susannah's songs. The bio for MorganaFan says "Welcome to MorganaFan's Channel - the only Youtube channel dedicated to the music, movies and unique style of Morgana King". Her/she added "Susannah Young only made the one LP recording in 1966. Information on her is scarce but I heard that she went to live in South Africa and sadly died in the 1990s". I see you ripped a Morgana King album "a taste of honey" back in 2017 but that link is no longer available on ZippyShare. Ha, ha! Against the Susannah video for Lazy Afternoon, Morganafan added "Of all the versions of the Jerome Moross and John Latouche's "Lazy Afternoon" from the 1954 musical, "The Golden Apple" hers is in my opinion the next best interpretation after Morgana King's 1964 exquisite definitive version". Maybe Susannah recorded songs that Morgana had recorded? Thanks again, John
