West Indian Spirituals And Folk Songs...Inia Te Wiata.

If you want something different, then have a listen to this ! . It is a great one from John who as you will all now know is in New Zealand.
So here is a little more about the singer .

Inia Te Wiata was born in Otaki and was educated at Otaki School and Otaki Māori College. He was a member of the Waiata Māori Methodist Mission Choir and in 1947 was awarded a government bursary to study at the Trinity College of Music in London. In 1951 he began working for the Royal Opera Company and was the first Māori to sing at Covent Garden. As one of New Zealand’s foremost opera singers, he spent much of his operatic career based in London and travelled widely throughout Europe, America, Russia, Australia, the Middle East and South Africa.

  2. Hello Luigi, could I ask for another ESPO site release please. K-tel Soul Motion. Again thank you for your site, I'm a 60's & 70's rock lover. I had no idea of the wonderful music that existed outside of the rock genre. My old age maybe playing a role now into the kind of music I enjoy listening to. Enjoying your site very much!
    Regards
    Michael
