Very good blog, I liked this album, did not know the singer, it would be possible to inform the author of Louise music, or publish the disc label? Congratulations for the great job in bringing back these things forgotten by time. Grateful.

ReplyDeleteBit of a taste of Little Britain there, taking the mickey out of the fact that whenever British actor Dennis Waterman starred in a TV programme he always managed to write the theme tune and sing the theme tune. Mostly known in the UK for starring as Terry in the drama 'Minder' with George Cole, he had been around since the 60's where he appeared on stage as a child actor in various musicals. Once he was established as a personality he managed to release a couple of albums of self-penned tunes which were a moderate success. Little Britain brought him back to prominence in the 90's by using him as a character in their sketch show, the joke being that he was really tiny.
In a way he was the British David Soul - actor first and then singer/songwriter once established.

ReplyDeleteGerry Standing is still standing although alas New Tricks has gone the way of all things. He makes a good stab at being a karaoke singer and as such he is a fine actor in a certain type of role. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAnother great Brit TV series, besides "New Tricks" which MORDOR mentioned, Denis Watterman was co-starring in a cop show called "The Sweeney". A fantastic actor. Thanx for this LP!
