Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music is a studio album by the American singer and pianist Ray Charles. It was recorded in February 1962 at Capitol Studios in New York City and United Western Recorders in Hollywood, and released in March of that year by ABC-Paramount Records.

The album departed further stylistically from the rhythm and blues music Charles had recorded for Atlantic Records in the 1950s. It featured country, folk, and Western music standards reworked by Charles in popular song forms of the time, including

 R&B, pop, and jazz.

 Crying Time is a studio album by Ray Charles released in February 1966 as the first release on his label Tangerine, which was distributed by ABC Paramount.

There is a range of music on Crying Time – the liner notes are even titled “the Versatile Mr. Ray Charles” – but there is a definite unity of feeling across the twelve songs. Country, blues, and orchestral music – sometimes slow, sometimes speedy; here sparse, there busy – all coexist as supporting players to the album’s main star: the anguish and redemption of Ray Charles.........Thanks for this one Marcos !

Here's a masterclass of singing and piano playing....Once again not played to much attention to "Ray's" singing in the past but this is a mature voice recorded in 1967...didn't realise Ray could sing "Falsetto" !!! and make it sound good !!

 Ray asked Sid Feller to write all the arrangements on this album. The backing was standard big band or orchestra with strings. As an experiment, Ray sings with a high sustained falsetto that he tried, he said, “for no other reason than self-satisfaction.”
