  1. Dianann Carroll is probably best known in the states for being the title character in a sit-com called Julia, in which she played a single-mother who was a nurse, probably an RN. She did this with a lot of charm. The young actor playing her son was really cute. The whole cast was way above par. The very fine Lloyd Nolan played her boss, Dr. Morton Chegley.

  2. Dianna Carol was the first "Black" actor to have her own series on American Television.
While the show was dreadful, even for the mid 1960s, it was an attempt by the networks to recognize the changing face of America. It would be some time after this that a Black actor would get their own show again, but by the 1970s it was a recognized staple. Diahann Carroll the barrier.

I was not aware that she did albums, but in those days most stars seemed to.

  5. A footnote - Carroll's son in the Julia series, Marc Copage, is an accomplished actor hilmself, having played recently in the film The Meg (2018) among others... Back then he was just little Corey :)

  6. I am a lifelong fan since I watched her show as a kid. My mother bought her records and we checked out everything she did. I am gratified to see everyone's comments.

  7. Hi, just came across your blog, never heard of her before, so thanks for the chance :)

Was it a typo for her name error? Dianann Carroll vs Diahann Carroll ‎– Nobody Sees Me Cry :)

Do you by any chance rip these to FLAC's? Would love the chance to hear in full quality if possible please :)

I'm guessing this would be the UK CBS (CBS ‎– 62879, CBS ‎– BPG 62879, CBS ‎– CL 2571), yes? And Mono too, yes?
