Petula Clark.

Petula Clark's many French recordings...
I think the cover is great...songs are good too not many well known ones...
Over the years she has recorded some great album's and singles...
One of her best CD's in my opinion was one called "Blue Lady"..."The Nashville Sessions "She recorded it in 1975 but it wasn't released till 1995 it was recorded for the ABC Record Company...reason for the delay according to the review was "Creative differences with the label" ,whatever that means so it was lying on a shelf for 20 years

Huey Lewis And The News

Huey Lewis and the News is an American rock band based in San Francisco, California. They had a run of hit singles during the 1980s and early 1990s, eventually achieving 19 top ten singles across the Billboard Hot 100, Adult Contemporary, and Mainstream Rock charts. Their sound draws upon earlier pop, rhythm & blues and doo-wop artists, and their own material has been labeled as blue-eyed soul, new wave, power pop, and roots rock.

Shirley Bassey.

This Lady or should I say Dame has never made a bad L/P....just some are better than others...this one is a so so...that means its ok the first side is a bit on the slow side maybe because most of the tracks are not well known a couple are but it's Shirley in a subdued mood...the second side is much better with our Shirl definitely being "Shirley Bassey"...And I just love the cover I think that's its a great photo...That's one of the reasons I  bought the L/P !!

Shelly Mann & His Friends

This "Modern Jazz" version is not so improvised as some of the MJ recordings are....yes there are some improvisations on the melody's but it still sticks to the main melody's so that you can recognise the songs.... they don't go meandering all over the place !!....Its a great one and in 1956 it was in the top Jazz L/P lists for quite some time over a year I believe !!!
           4. Wouldn't It Be Luverly

Shelly Manne - On The Street Where You Live

The sound is a bit low on the "Julie Andrews" Intro at the beginning...

The Blow Monkeys

The Blow Monkeys are a British pop band formed in 1981. Their first single, "Live Today Love Tomorrow", was released in 1982. They subsequently enjoyed a successful career with several hit singles and albums throughout the 1980s before splitting up at the beginning of the 1990s. Their first hit song was "Digging Your Scene" which hit No. 12 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1986. They had four albums and eleven singles in the UK charts between 1986 and 1990.
The Blow Monkeys formed in 1981 when lead singer, songwriter, guitarist, bassist, and piano player Dr. Robert (born Bruce Robert Howard, 2 May 1961, Haddington, Scotland) returned to the United Kingdom after having spent five years in Australia. Dr. Robert is named after the Beatles song Doctor Robert. The other band members are Mick Anker on bass guitar, Neville Henry on saxophone and Tony Kiley (born 16 February 1962) or Crispin Taylor on drums.
The band split up in late 1990, shortly after the release of their fifth album Springtime for the World (an EP of the same name was also released, collecting all three singles from the album).
On 18 November 2007, the original band members announced the reunion of The Blow Monkeys.

Once again the record company has produced a compilation of "Tom's" Greatest Hits ??(Dubious)....True they have included most of them but amongst the tracks are some cover versions of popular songs that were hits for other people and some that might be "B"sides to his Hits so I suppose they could be classed as hits because they were "The Other Side" !!.....why oh why do record companies do that !!...I'm sure that Tom could have filled this double L/P with all of his hits !!....He's had plenty to choose from during his recording time !!

Bert Kaempfert.

The record company has done a good job with this L/P...It's title lives up to the content...usually on "The Very Best Of ??" there is about one or two hit tracks and the rest is made up of recordings that don't mean much....BUT this one delivers the goods....I remember buying "Wonderland By Night" (to give it the English title) on a 45rpm quite a number of years ago...even had a stab at writing lyrics for it...can't remember what they were and must have got throw away at some point in time ..so they couldn't have made a very good impression otherwise I would have remembered them .

Simple Minds

Simple Minds are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1977. They have released a string of hit singles, becoming best known internationally for "Don't You (Forget About Me)" (1985), which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
Singer Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill are the two members who have been with the band throughout its whole history. The other current band members are bassist Ged Grimes, drummer Cherisse Osei, backing singer Sarah Brown, guitarist and keyboardist Gordy Goudie and keyboardist Erik Ljunggren. Notable former members include keyboardist Mick MacNeil, bassists Derek Forbes and John Giblin and drummers Brian McGee and Mel Gaynor.
Empires And Dance was released in September 1980. Many of the tracks were minimal and featured a significant use of sequencing. McNeil's keyboards and Forbes' bass became the main melodic elements in the band's sound, with Burchill's heavily processed guitar becoming more of a textural element. With this album, Kerr began to experiment with non-narrative lyrics based on observations he had made as the band travelled across Europe on tour. While a modest commercial success, Empires and Dance received enthusiastic response in the British music press.
