Neat. I like finding entire albums from artists who were mostly 1-hit wonders. Often, they have a lot of great tunes on their albums that never got airplay.

The definition of a 1-hit wonder is someone who has *1 hit*. That describes Gilbert, at least in the US. True, Clair did well on the charts, but it's not a song most people remember. This says nothing of his ability or longevity, only that he fits the 1-hit wonder label.

ReplyDeleteHe is very popular in the UK with at least 4 hits from that album.
For the record, Gilbert had 2 UK No1's, 7 UK Top 10 hits and 14 UK Top 40
