Portia Nelson

There's quite a bit of info on this lady so I suppose that you would not class her as a forgotten singer but it is the first time that I have heard of her and the voice matches the first name !!
A soprano with a clear crystal voice that I immediately thought of Musicals, Theater, Broadway, London's West End, and yep I was right....see the mini autobiography below !!!

Portia Nelson (born Betty Mae Nelson, May 27, 1920 – March 6, 2001) was an American popular singer, songwriter, actress, and author. She was best known for her appearances in the most prestigious 1950s cabarets, where she sang an elegant repertoire in a soprano noted for its silvery tone, perfect diction, intimacy, and meticulous attention to words.
In 1953 she made her recording debut with a solo album, Love Songs for a Late Evening, for the Masterworks division of Columbia Records, which was normally dedicated to classical musicians.
During this period, president and producer Goddard Lieberson at Columbia Records was embarked on a project to preserve the never-yet-recorded jewels of the classic American musical theatre. Portia Nelson was a frequent star of these Studio Cast Recordings: Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! (1952) with Nelson Eddy and Kaye Ballard, Rodgers and Hart’s On Your Toes (1952) with Jack Cassidy, Jerome Kern and Otto Harbach’s Roberta (1952) with Cassidy and Ballard, and Rodgers and Hart’s The Boys from Syracuse (1953), again with Cassidy. ..........(Info Edited From Wikipedia And Other Sources)
