Now for something from the 70's a great compilation of hits some well known and some not so ! An interesting track is track 9 Side 2 "Brandy" by "Scott English" I wonder if it would have become a bigger hit if "Barry Manilow" hadn't recorded it as "Mandy" !!! All in all this is a good reflection of the songs that defined the hits of the 70's !!
If you have seen "Oliver" then you should recognise this singer !!...she's a belter !! Belting (or vocal belting) is a specific technique of singing by which a singer mixes in the proper proportions, their lower and upper resonances.

Anne Shelton was a very popular singer from the 50's & 60's and I believe that she was the only singer to sing with "Glenn Millers" band when he came to England to do some broadcasting for the BBC....This L/P is a collection of her singles and a couple of tracks from another L/P which I will be posting later
P.S Just a bit of "Musical Trivia"....Anne's recording of "Lay Down Your Arms" was banned from being played on the BBC because of the fact that "Soldiers were not suposed to lay down their Arms (Weapons) according to the WD !!!.....It still was one of Anne's greatest hits and I believe was a no 1 for her (I think) !!!

!!...It was produced by the "Hotel Halcyon" where they stayed I had a check on "Google"but it is now not there... either pulled
down or completely refurbished and a name change....The tracks are by
musicians and vocalists that performed there...Maybe somebody out there
also had a holiday and stayed at the Hotel if so you can always leave a
comment !!....overall its a pleasant L/P.... pleasant listening!!!!
