Kiki Dee.

 This L/P is a early 80's release of "Kiki's" full of original songs....except for one which she sings with "Elton John"....Track 2 Side One".....As I have said before she in my opinion is one of Britain's unrated singers and we did have quite a few in the 60's 70's & 80's !!....So if you like you music with a lot of originality this could be the one for you...great track is "Wild Eyes"

Ella Fitzgerald.

 These are some of Ella's earlier recordings...recorded between 1938-1957..including her best scat recordings "Flying Home" "Oh Lady Be Good" and "How High The Moon"....although she has done these many many times on her live recordings to me these are definitely the definitive ones !!..It's great to hear the young voice of Ella and hear how her voice changes from "The little girl voice"to the rich silky perfect diction voice that we all love !!

Not heard much about this lady being that I'm not realy into CW music but this is a pleasant listening L/P and if you are a fam of CW then you'll love it !!...still can't get my head around the 1 2 1 2 tempo !!!.....BUT as I've said many times before "Variety Is The Spice Of Life "...and life would be a bore if we all thought the same !!!!....Thanks Bob for this one !

 Some Hammond Organ music now from a lady from the 50's playing music from the 60's !!

Cherry Wainer (March 2, 1935 – November 14, 2014) was a South African-born musician, best known as a member of Lord Rockingham's XI and a soloist on the Hammond organ.

Wainer was born in East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa. A piano player since childhood, she was later influenced by Jimmy Smith and learned jazz keyboard.

In her first recording she collaborated with accordionist Nico Carstens on an early South African rock and roll 10" titled "Flying High". She first became known to UK television audiences as a regular in the 1950s magazine programme Lunchbox, with Noele Gordon.

She subsequently featured as a session musician in Oh, Boy!, one of the first British series to feature rock'n'roll regularly, with Lord Rockingham's XI, a "scratch" band led by Harry Robinson, which also included Benny Green and Red Price. Their single, "Hoots Mon", was number one in the UK charts in 1958.Along with the band, Wainer played in the 1959 Royal Variety Performance, held at the Palace Theatre, Manchester. In 1960, she appeared as herself in the musical Girls of the Latin Quarter. Wainer married drummer Don Storer (died 2006), with whom she appeared regularly as a duo during the 1960s. They appeared regularly in a German television series, Beat! Beat! Beat (1967). Wainer released several solo albums and singles, none of which made the UK charts.

Cherry Wainer died on November 14, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada, aged 79.

Jim Stafford.

 Its hard to say what category "Jim Stafford" comes under...he sings , plays guitar and he's a bit crazy in the "Ray Stevens" mode...so I recon he comes under the "Country & Western" with a bit of "Hillbilly" Thrown In !!!...this L/P is excellent it's got the best recording of "Mr Bojangles"to date and a minor hit with "Spiders & Snakes...and I wonder how many people who havn't heard "My Girl Bill" will guess the punch line before he sings it !!!!....to anybody who has not heard of "Jim" its well worth a download....
