Traffle.
We now have one that I can't seem to find anything about...I Have "Googled" them but have come up with "Zilch"....and my brother and sister in law seem to have vague memories of where it came from...it was either bought at a local Leicester Club or maybe in "Cornwall" when on holiday...As they are an "Australian" group I assume that they were over here doing the rounds of the Clubs & Pubs performing.....Maybe some of you "Down Under" could enlighten us and give us some information...The "Nicola" that is mentioned on the signature on the front I am told was about 4 years old !!...she is now married and got two children of her own !!......So I recon that its a late 70's early 80's recording no date on the sleeve or record...and it is a "Private Pressing" From EMI (Australia) !!
....All the tracks are written by the members of the group so they are all original songs....which poses the thought that the more you play and listen to it the better it becomes !!!!
P.S. "Bingo"!!!...thanks to "Dusty's" detective work we now have a little more info about "Traffle"....and a Video to watch !!!

Traffle Duo are Kathy Wilson (vocals) and Terry McMahon (guitar/vocals). Traffle Duo use professional backing tracks to compliment their sound and they have a large and diverse repertoire. Their performance not only covers many genres of music but they are also very capable floorshow entertainers.
Kathy and Terry both came from musical backgrounds and after meeting in Australia they developed the Traffle duo which has since toured the world. They have performed in Hotels, Resorts, Theatres, Theatre restaurants and Cruise ships. The duo have performed on the QEII ship, at the Sheraton in Hong Kong and at The Tradewinds Resort in Cairns amongst many other international venues.

ReplyDeleteTraffle is a musical duo make up of Australian Kathy Wilson and British-born Terry McMahon who emigrated to Australia in 1971. A Perth entrepreneur put them together and the duo has played not only in Britain but also in Australia, Germany and Bermuda. The duo returned each year to Cromer in East Anglia for the annual Seaside Specials. These programmes are surely the last examples of variety shows in Britain - this sort of show was known in Britain as an "End of the Pier Show" and was a feature of many English seaside resorts each summer. Just to add to this, Traffle were appearing at the Cromer summer show into at least the mid-90s.
