For me their first LP, "Winchester Cathedral," was influential because it introduced me at a young age to '20s-era American & British pop, which I'd only heard before from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in their early jug-band phase, and from Ian Whitcomb, who reproduced English music hall songs on his LPs. From this anthology I recommend "Oh Donna Clara," "Tap Your Feet (and Go Vo De etc.)," "Whispering," and "Lily Marlene" for their all-things-considered fidelity to the originals.
👍 !
