Pam Ayres.320 Kbps

Re-Post requested by Gav

Something entirely different now...I guess this will not be to everybody taste but be brave and adventurous and listen to some "British Humour" !!!

Pam Ayres MBE (born 14 March 1947) is an English poet, comedian, songwriter and presenter of radio and television programmes.
In 1975, Ayres appeared on the television talent show Opportunity Knocks. This led to a wide variety of guest appearances on TV and radio shows.[3] Since then she has published six books of poems, toured in a one-woman stage show, hosted her own TV show and performed her stage show for the Queen. Her poetry has a deceptively simple style and deals with everyday subject matter. Her poem Oh, I Wish I'd Looked After Me Teeth, was voted into the Top 10 of a BBC poll to find the Nation's 100 Favourite Comic Poems. In the UK Arts Council's report on poetry, Ayres was identified as the fifth best-selling poet in Britain in 1998 and 1999.

Soeur Sourire

Couldn't let this one pass by !!...a gentle set of songs sung entirely in French !! and of course the hit that went Zooming round the world in 1961.
In 1961, the album was recorded in Brussels at Philips; the single "Dominique" became an international hit, and in 1962 her album sold nearly two million copies. The Dominican Sister became an international celebrity, with the stage name of Sœur Sourire ("Sister Smile"). She gave concerts and appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show on 5 January 1964. "Dominique" was the first, and remains the only, Belgian song to be a number one hit single in the United States.

Jerry Murads Harmonicats

Don't think we have had any "Harmonica's" on here yet so we have now...the arrangements are first class and the harmonica's blend in well with the orchestra...not so much featuring them as solo's but incorporating them in the orchestra....Most harmonica music I have heard don't do that !! this L/P sounds like a fresh sound !!.....Of course they are featured but to my mind they blend in perfectly !
