Here's a young lady at the age of 30 (Now), who plays trumpet alto sax and sings great. Defiantly a Jazz star of today and the future ! and here she is at the tender age of 15 doing all three of the above ! Alto Sax ! Trumpet ! And a great voice !
Andrea Motis (born May 9, 1995) is a Spanish jazz singer and trumpeter who sings in Catalan, Spanish, Portuguese and English
From the age of seven, Motis developed musically at the Municipal School of Music of Sant Andreu, a neighborhood of Barcelona, becoming the school's lead trumpeter and later saxophonist. In 2007, at twelve, she began to collaborate with the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, led by teacher and musician Joan Chamorro
In 2010, at the age of fifteen, she recorded an album of jazz standards, Joan Chamorro Presents Andrea Motis. Her albums include Live at Jamboree and Feeling Good (2014). She recorded Feeling Good with her mentor, Joan Chamorro, bassist and leader of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band. She made her major label debut with Emotional Dance (Impulse!, 2017). 17. Blip Blip
We now have one of my favourite Jazz recordings of the "Noughties" (2000's) !
ReplyDeleteIt's Incredible that Andrea was only 15 when she made these recording's.....If you like the sound bite...then you won't be disappointed in the download !!.......Did a search for her and she is still recording and doing Concerts mainly in Europe....Be great if she ever gets to England !!
Enjoy !
